BDP
consulting services as an
essential part of project
engineering team
BDP Inc. is
currently providing consulting
services as an integral part of
our client’s engineering
team for detailed design of new
facilities in Texas. Acting
as owner’s engineer, the BDP
team is participating in design
definition, equipment selection,
and supplier coordination for
instrument and control
components. These projects
include a grass-roots cryogenic
facility, as well as various
compressor station
projects. The BDP resources
supplement the client’s
staff by providing technical
expertise for various control
system platforms. The BDP
consulting services involve
design decisions for control
system and instrument selection,
OEM package PLC design and
programming requirements, and
also define design criteria to
integrate OEM packages with
legacy plant control
systems.
As an integral part of the
project engineering team, the BDP
resources typically participate
in the following design
activities.
<> Review and
comment on drawings, plans, and
specifications related to
instruments and controls
submitted by the engineering
firm.
<> Participate
in design review meetings and
site visits related to controls
and instrumentation issues.
<> Assist with
scope development and
requisitions for instrument and
control equipment, and
participate in bid reviews and
vendor selection.
<> Act as
customer representative to review
and approve OEM package PLC
system assembly, programming,
functional test, and final
documents.
<> Provide
client oversight of I&E
contractor and control system
vendors through detailed design.
Working closely with the
Operating Company, BDP Inc. is
participating in instrument and
control system designs from
initial scope definition, through
equipment selection, and to final
construction drawings for
equipment fabrication and site
installation.
