Delivering
improved plant performance using
BDP advanced control strategies
and solutions
The BDP team is
currently providing consulting
services and implementing
advanced control projects at
various midstream
facilities. These projects
include enhanced regulatory
control strategies and
model-based advanced control
strategies to deliver improved
product performance and increased
plant stability. Control
applications include NGL
fractionation strategies, heat
& energy management, feed
rate optimization, parallel train
processing strategies, and
enhanced cryogenic liquids
recovery. In addition to
advanced control project design
and commissioning, the BDP team
provides consulting services to
promote sustained performance
utilizing advanced control
strategies designed and
implemented by the BDP
team. These advanced
strategies are typically
configured directly in the DCS or
PLC control system, using the
native programming features
available in the vendor
software. Implementing
advanced control strategies
directly in the DCS/PLC
controller can improve the
control loop response time, can
minimize operator intervention,
and can ensure program
compatibility when control system
version upgrades are
required.
These BDP
engineering services compliment
the skills and resources
available at the processing
plant, and enable our clients to
maximize the benefit of their
installed control systems.

team continues to expand
Barry D. Payne &
Associates, Inc. is pleased to
announce that Mr. Rogier Pouwer
has joined our team in Houston,
Texas. Rogier brings 15+
years of experience with
technical services, operations
support, and business development
in the hydrocarbon
industries. Rogier
developed his broad industry
experience and his technical
skills while contributing to
engineering and marketing
activities at Honeywell Process
Solutions. Rogier
will lead our efforts to expand Advanced
Process Control Solutions and
Technical Services
offered by BDP Inc.
BDP continues to deliver APC
solutions that include process
control consulting, loop tuning
and troubleshooting, strategy
design and commissioning, as well
as remote operations support for
sustained performance.
These ongoing BDP investments and
continued staff growth will allow
